30 universities and research centres involved

The Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW) has launched the COVID-19 Scientific Research Database on Treatment Option (Covid-Treat) to provide updated literature on treating the coronavirus, a press release said Tuesday (April 28, 2020). The organizers wish to make reliable information available especially for countries with weak health systems. So far, almost 30 universities and research centres have joined the project. Users include clinical staff, health institutes and health insurers.

Available internationally

The information provided is based on scientific findings and will be available on an international level to guide local responses and therapeutic decisions. "The 'COVID-19 Scientific Research Database on Treatment Options' should function as a one-stop shop for gathering and providing information on a wide range of therapies used now and in future to meet the need for information on treating the SARS-COVID-19 virus," said Prof. Walter Leal of HAW, who founded the platform.
