Airline to operate daily Hamburg-Milan flight

ITA Airways undertook Sunday (March 27, 2022) its maiden flight from Hamburg to Milan-Linate marking the start of daily flights to the city's second largest airport after Malpensa. The flight coincided with the start of Hamburg's new summer flight schedule. ITA Airways became Italy's latest state-owned carrier in 2021 and the successor to Alitalia, which became insolvent

Targeting business travellers

ITA Airways is now targeting business travellers on a route that attracted mainly leisure travellers in the past and as Linate Airport is only about kilometers from central Milan. "Our passengers will be able to reach the Italian economic centre even faster and more comfortably from the city airport," says Dirk Behrens, Head of Aviation at Hamburg Airport. The airline is operating  A319 and A320 aircraft on the route and relies on the latest generation of Airbus fleet to meet its eco efficiency goals.
