HVV Switch switch app adds e-scooters

11 October 2021
Tier scooters now available per app - Miles car-sharing to join

The HVV Switch app added Tier e-scooter provider and  Hamburg's largest car-sharing provider Miles to its services in early October. Users of the app have had access to HVV ticketing and to the car-pooling services of MOIA and Sixt Share so far. The HVV Switch aims to make all of the city's transport services available in one app.

Inclusion of more providers

"People in and around Hamburg will have the entire spectrum of shared mobility regardless of buses, trains, ride-pooling or car, e-scooter and bike sharing services in their pockets on the HVV Switch app in future. We meet mobility needs with each new partner and are becoming a real alternative to private cars," said Henrik Falk, CEO of Hochbahn. More services like Stadtrad bicycles and We Share's e-cars will be added in 2022. Anna-Theresa Korbutt, HVV Managing Director, pointed out: "If more two-wheelers are included in the app as well as buses and trains, on-demand and car sharing, we can finally speak of a broad offer. I am pleased about every additional partner."

HVV Switch - ITS anchor project

The HVV Switch app is a collaboration between HVV and Hochbahn and has been installed more than 110,000 times since its launch in 2020, according to the providers. The app can also be used to check whether parking spaces are available at one of  80 so-called HVV Switch points at stops in various suburbs of Hamburg that also provide spaces for e-cars and etc. HVV Switch is one of 42 anchor projects of the ITS World Congress, which gets underway in Hamburg from October 11 to 15.
