Experience Gamecity's Online Hub virtually
Gamers and web surfers alike can now experience the Gamecity Online Hub, launched by the Gamecity Hamburg initiative, as a game rather than as a “mere” website. The game is played in an authentic Hanseatic setting to highlight the boon of video games. The hub offers details of 30 companies and educational institutions initially. More than 200 companies in the sector and various educational institutions make Hamburg one of Europe’s thriving game cities
Virtual hub pooling Hamburg's game ecosystem
Visitors stroll through digital images of the port, St. Pauli, the Stadtpark and Speicherstadt to learn more about the games ecosystem in Hamburg. Virtual booths host companies and institutions offering information, presenting games and opportunities to chat in open video calls. The initiative Gamecity Hamburg, which is funded by the city, will also present its networking and information activities and the Games Lift Incubator and prototype funding schemes on the hub.
No registration or login needed
The Gamecity Online Hub highlights the innovative power and diversity of Hamburg's games industry, according to Gamecity Hamburg. The platform will be changed in terms of content and functions this year. Plans are also being laid to use the browser game for regular events and get-togethers and more interactive functions such as 1:1 video calls between users embedded in the online hub. Users do not have to register or login to Gamecity Online Hub, which is managed by the Hamburg-based Super Crowd Entertainment agency. Last year, the agency won the German Computer Game Prize for its "Indie Arena Booth Online" project.
