St. Petersburg's world-famous Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra will start things off with Russian ballet music on April 11 and 12. Later, the MusicAeterna ensemble will perform a new interpretation of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony by the Greek-Russian conductor, Teodor Currentzis, on April 14, 15 and 16.
Austrian lutenist Christina Pluhar and her ensemble L'Arpeggiata will perform works from the Renaissance and Baroque periods while the Passion of Christ will be traced musically on April 13, the Elbphilharmonie said. Belgian organist Bernard Foccroulle has compiled works in praise of the "beauty of creation to be performed on Easter Sunday (April 17, 2022).
