Air Cairo connecting Hamburg with Red Sea region from autumn
Air Cairo will operate a new flight twice a week from Hamburg Airport to Hurghada in Egypt from October 1, 2021. The holiday region is popular among diving enthusiasts and those keen on desert safaris. An Airbus A320 aircraft, including the A320neo will fly the new route initially every Monday and Friday.
Hamburg Airport's network on growth path
"Hurghada is the perfect destination for families who want to experience something special," said Dirk Behrens, Head of Aviation at Hamburg Airport. "Autumn is the perfect season for a holiday in Hurghada as the climate is still warm enough to relax on the beach but without being too hot," he added.
Condor and Eurowings recently added direct flights to the Greek island of Samos and to Valencia in Spain from Hamburg Airport. The Hungarian airline, Wizz Air, also announced non-stop flights to the Bosnian capital Sarajevo. Hamburg Airport's half-yearly resulted included a noticeable increase in passenger numbers in late July after pandemic-induced cancellations.
