Future Hamburg Talk: Strategy for green hydrogen

12 May 2021
Michael Westhagemann, Senator for Economics and Innovation, and Jan Rispens, Coordinator of the Hydrogen Network present their concepts

Hamburg counts among the European regions with vast expertise in the production of hydrogen and its use in diverse sectors. Hamburg also offers ideal conditions for hydrogen as a logistics hub and as one of Europe’s largest industrial centres with demand for green hydrogen. This strategy is upheld by an extensive connection to a high-voltage, overland energy grid as well as the adaption of the local gas grid for hydrogen.

In this talk, Michael Westhagemann, Hamburg’s Senator for Economics and Innovation, and Jan Rispens, Co-ordinator of the Hydrogen Network, present their concepts for a self-sustaining hydrogen sector in Hamburg.
