28 June 2022
Entrepreneur talks importance of blockchain, Blockchance 2023, and Hamburg as a trade fair centre

Fabian Friedrich, a Hamburg native, counts among the pioneers of blockchain and in 2013 organised a first vegan Christmas market in Hamburg that accepted the cryptocurrency. The term blockchain has long been associated with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Today, nearly every industry has pilot projects based on distributed ledger technology (DLT).

The initial acceptance has since led to Blockchance Europe, which is an accelerator and the hub of the Hamburg's blockchain scene. Founded by Friedrich in 2018, Blockchance Europe has since morphed into one of Europe's leading events for blockchain and DLT.

Friedrich, CEO, outlines the essence of blockchain, why Hamburg is a good place to do business, and what visitors can expect at Blockchance Europe underway from March 14-16, 2023.
