Porsche becoming main sponsor of Elbphilharmonie

Sports car manufacturer among six principal sponsors - joint projects planned

The German sports car manufacturer, Porsche, will become the main sponsor of the Elbphilharmonie concert hall from July as part its cultural philanthropy, a press release said Thursday (July 22, 2021). Emphasis is on promoting talented young musicians and artists. Porsche will also present the "Elbphilharmonie Summer", which marks the start of the concert season every August, in future. The company is among six of the Elbphilharmonie's sponsors including Montblanc, SAP, Julius Bär, Telekom and the Kühne Foundation.

“We are delighted to have Porsche at our side as a strong, new partner with great innovative power and passion for forward-looking cultural offers,” said Christoph Lieben-Seutter, General and Artistic Director of the Elbphilharmonie and Laeiszhalle concert halls. The partnership will facilitate several exciting joint projects in the coming years, he added

Porsche to expand cultural commitment 

Porsche wishes to hold Elbphilharmonie-related events at its Hanseatic branch, according to Philipp von Witzendorff, Chairman of Porsche Hamburg. The Stuttgart-based company has in the past lent support to all kinds of cultural projects and institutions as part of its sustainability strategy. Porsche also has partnerships with the Stuttgart Ballet and the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra.
