Companies to exchange personnel as required - hotline for staff

A new www.fachkraefte-fuer-hamburg.de platform launched Monday (May 4, 2020) to put companies in contact with urgently-needed workers. Companies can post their requirements and exchange their personnel regardless of industry amid the corona pandemic. The platform has been set up by the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Family and Integration with the Koordinierungsstelle Weiterbildung KWB e.V. as part of the "Skilled Workers for Hamburg" project. The corona crisis is forcing many companies in Hamburg to limit their operations and put workers on short-time work leaving them free to do other work.

Swift, smooth aid

The platform brings companies together to save as many people as possible from unemployment and to secure skilled workers in the process. "Companies can help themselves and bind their employees to them by allowing them to have a side job. The employees themselves can earn some extra money during short-time work," said Dr. Melanie Leonhard, Senator for Labour. Social enterprises can avail of a social service provider on http://www.hamburg.de/sozialdienstleistereinsatz.

Hotline for employees and self-employed

The hamburger arbeit has set up a special hotline for employees and the self-employed on 040 65 804 444. A team of educators, psychologists and advisors from public companies offers help e.g. with housing problems, financial difficulties and debts free of charge. Advice is also provided on how and where to apply for benefits. The hotline can be reached from 9 am to 5 pm from Mondays through Fridays.
